- Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:30 AM–5:00 PM or 8:00 AM–4:30 PM
- 30-minute lunch break
About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced Medical Assistant to join a specialty practice located in the Texas Medical Center. This is a small team with a close-knit, family-style environment. The Medical Assistant will support one physician exclusively and will function in many ways as a Lead MA, gaining experience across multiple clinical and administrative areas.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities
- Rooming patients and obtaining vital signs
- Entering and updating patient demographic information in Allscripts
- Administering medications and injections (no phlebotomy required)
- Scheduling and rescheduling patient appointments
- Making and receiving patient phone calls
- Handling prior authorizations
- Supporting both clinical and front-office workflows as needed
Must-Have Qualifications:
- Minimum 2+ years of Medical Assistant experience
- Medical Assistant Diploma or Certification required
- Experience with EMR systems
- Allscripts experience required
- Injection experience
- Bilingual in English and Spanish
Preferred Skills:
- Experience working in an ambulatory/outpatient setting
- EMR Allscripts experience
