Patient Concierge (Medical Front Desk – Float Role)

Location: Overland Park, KS (Primary)
Occasional coverage at nearby clinic locations as needed

Schedule:
Monday–Friday
7:30 AM–4:30 PM or 8:30 AM–5:30 PM (rotating schedules provided in advance)

Pay Range:
$18.00 – $21.50 per hour (based on experience)

About the Role

We are seeking a high-energy, patient-focused Patient Concierge to serve as the welcoming face of a fast-growing, multi-specialty outpatient clinic. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a busy, people-centered healthcare environment, enjoys multitasking, and takes pride in creating an exceptional patient experience from check-in to check-out.

As a float position, you’ll support multiple clinic locations when needed, with a primary home base in Overland Park. Training is comprehensive and supportive, with a structured onboarding period to set you up for success.

What You’ll Do

• Greet, register, and check in patients while delivering a warm and professional first impression

• Guide patients through intake processes, new patient paperwork, and required forms to ensure accuracy and completeness

• Triage patient questions and messages, escalating concerns appropriately to clinical team members

• Verify insurance coverage, benefits, and demographic information

• Collect copays and process transactions through POS systems; reconcile daily collections

• Scan, upload, and maintain medical records within the practice management system

• Manage daily faxes and route documents to appropriate clinical or administrative staff

• Assist with medical record requests and administrative documentation

• Enter claims related to FMLA, rating letters, and other administrative needs

• Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming clinic environment (lobby, PT bay, common areas)

• Open and close clinic locations as scheduled

• Communicate patient feedback and operational concerns to leadership

• Provide coverage at multiple clinic locations, including urgent care settings, as needed

• Participate in staff meetings and adhere to all organizational policies and procedures

What We’re Looking For (Must-Haves)

• At least 1 year of experience in a healthcare or medical office setting

• Strong computer skills, including the ability to navigate Excel, chat platforms, instant messaging, and EMR systems

• Ability to manage multiple provider communication channels while assisting patients in person

• A high-energy, take-charge attitude with excellent customer service instincts

• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-volume clinic environment

Preferred Qualifications

• 1–2 years of healthcare administrative or front-desk experience

• Knowledge of medical terminology and insurance benefits

• Experience with electronic medical record systems

• Strong organizational, communication, and data-entry skills

• Ability to remain calm, professional, and solution-focused in high-stress situations
