Job Summary
Our client is seeking a licensed clinician to join their team and deliver innovative services addressing the behavioral health needs of older adults. As part of the Thrive NYC initiative, the program aims to expand access to mental health care by co-locating a satellite mental health clinic in local senior centers. This position offers flexibility with the option of part-time or full-time work, potentially including a comprehensive benefits package.
Key Responsibilities
- Utilize outreach strategies to engage older adults in mental health services in senior centers.
- Provide evidence-based mental health interventions in individual and group settings.
- Use screening tools to assess mental health needs of older clients.
- Participate in interdisciplinary team conferences, treatment planning, and discharge planning.
- Deliver a full range of psychiatric social services to an assigned client caseload.
- Conduct group psychotherapy services for clients and families under psychiatric supervision.
- Participate in staff committees, program planning, and community events.
- Complete required case records and reports using computers.
- Represent the agency at various events and meetings.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Possession of or candidacy for a New York State License in Clinical Social Work or Clinical Psychology. LMSW, LMHC, LCAT, or LMFT may be considered.
- Proficiency in English and Spanish languages.
- Strong writing and record-keeping skills.
- Ability to travel via mass transit.
- Sensitivity to the roles of race, religion, ethnicity, and other personal values in client interactions.
Skills
- Proficiency in social work and record-keeping.
- Ability to travel or negotiate barriers in clients' residences.
- Preferred skills include Spanish language proficiency.
