Job Summary
Our client is seeking a dedicated Ophthalmic Technician to assist healthcare professionals in providing exceptional patient care. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in clinical testing, diagnostics, and assisting providers with various procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Take pressures and patient histories.
- Perform field testing and OCT testing.
- Conduct chart reviews and manual retractions.
- Assist providers with procedures and administrative duties.
- Greet patients and escort them to exam rooms.
- Take patient histories including chief complaint, ocular/medical history, medications, and allergies.
- Check visual acuity and perform preliminary tests before the doctor exam.
- Support auto-refraction and manual refraction, tonometry, visual field testing, OCT, fundus photography, corneal topography, keratometry, lensometry, color vision, and depth perception testing.
- Set up and clean exam rooms, assist during exams and minor procedures, scribe for the doctor, and prepare patients for dilation.
Skills
- Proficiency in performing clinical testing and diagnostics related to ophthalmology.
- Strong communication and patient care skills.
Schedule
- 40 hours Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday are on a 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM shift schedule
- Tuesdays alternate between 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM and 1:00 PM - 8:00 PM
- Rotating Saturdays 8:00 AM - 12:00 PM
