Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Credentialing Specialist to join our client's team. The primary responsibilities include performing primary source verification, ensuring compliance with accreditation standards, compiling credentialing files, and acting as a liaison with stakeholders. This position offers the opportunity to work in a detail-oriented role within a mission-driven culture.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform primary source verification for providers seeking hospital privileges and/or medical group participation.
- Ensure compliance with NCQA and accreditation standards (JCAHO, AAAHC, URAC).
- Review, validate, and compile credentialing files and packets.
- Act as liaison between Medical Directors, Medical Staff Offices, providers, and internal stakeholders.
- Track effective and termination dates.
- Maintain ongoing follow-up to ensure credentialing completion prior to provider start dates.
- Support initial and re-credentialing files.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Ideally 3+ years of credentialing experience (open to slightly less for strong candidates).
- Experience with providers (MDs, DOs, DEAs, licenses, CSR, residencies, etc.).
- Knowledge of NCQA standards and credentialing regulations.
- Ability to work independently in a heads-down, detail-heavy role.
- Strong preference for candidates with Medical Staff Office experience.
Skills
- Technical Skills: MD-Staff credentialing software experience (preferred, not required).
- Soft Skills: Ability to work independently, attention to detail.
Additional Requirements
- Full-time, Day Shift: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (flexibility between 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM).
- Onsite with one remote day/week available after conversion (optional).
