Job Summary
Our client is seeking a Registered Nurse with strong infusion skills. The position involves the supervision and assessment of patient therapies, assisting physicians with exams and procedures, maintaining patient flow, and ensuring accurate documentation of care. The RN will serve as a mentor and resource to less experienced nurses and participate in ongoing professional development opportunities.
Key Responsibilities
- Demonstrate knowledge of age-specific differences in patient populations, including physiological and developmental differences.
- Assess and monitor therapy of patients using technical skills under physician supervision.
- Assist physician with exams and procedures, maintain patient flow, and document all elements of care.
- Perform venipuncture, access implanted ports, and maintain central venous access devices.
- Serve as a resource to medical assistants and LPNs, triage patient/family calls, and provide teaching.
- Provide nursing coverage for satellite offices and follow OSHA guidelines for handling biohazardous materials.
- Participate in ongoing educational opportunities and maintain professional affiliations.
- Ensure patient confidentiality and mentor less experienced nurses.
Qualifications
- 1-2 years of experience with infusion skills, particularly accessing ports.
- Graduate of an accredited Nursing program.
- Current CPR certification.
Experience
- 1-2 years of experience in relevant nursing roles.
- Preferred: 3 years of experience in oncology.
Skills
- Infusion skills, including accessing ports.
- Ability to maintain patient confidentiality and mentor others.
Additional Requirements
The position requires free parking, and lunch is sponsored twice a week. The schedule follows a typical outpatient nursing schedule from Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
