Job Summary
Our client is seeking a dedicated Medical Assistant to join their team. The primary responsibilities include preparing examination rooms, assisting physicians during exams, performing Point of Care testing, managing patient flow, and coordinating with pharmacies, labs, and imaging. The role emphasizes maintaining high standards in documentation accuracy, infection control compliance, and patient care quality.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare examination rooms and ensure cleanliness and proper supply stocking.
- Escort patients to exam rooms and assist in obtaining vital signs, health history, and chief complaints.
- Assist physicians or APN during exams and procedures.
- Administer intramuscular and Sub Q injections and perform EKGs.
- Schedule appointments and handle referrals and prior authorizations.
- Update and maintain patient information in EPIC.
- Coordinate with pharmacies, labs, and imaging for patient care.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Some MA experience.
- Problem-solving and clinical experience.
- Ability to administer injections and take manual blood pressure.
- Training in injections is required.
- Positive attitude and teamwork capabilities are essential.
Skills
- Experience with EPIC is preferred.
- Proficiency in administering injections and performing EKGs.
- Strong problem-solving and clinical skills.
- Effective communication and patient care skills.
