Job Summary
Our client is seeking an Internal Medicine Physician to take on a leadership role in managing clinical outcomes and improving healthcare for a patient population. The role involves direct management of employee physicians and representing our client as the clinical leader in designated markets. The Physician Leader will participate in strategy and operations for performance-based medical management and engage in managing the market's clinical divisions.
Responsibilities / Job Duties
- Willing to conduct home visits two days a week.
- Manage all employee physicians within specific markets.
- Act as the clinical leader for our client in the market.
- Be accountable for all clinical outcomes.
- Provide strategic and operational guidance for medical management.
- Oversee budget and risk management with the regional VP.
- Analyze and report on business performance to the executive team and Board of Directors.
- Manage IPA relations and conduct SNF management and rounds.
- Utilization Management Oversight and fulfill assigned projects.
- Guide clinical divisions and perform profit and loss analysis.
- Develop and maintain strong provider and network relationships.
- Recruit, develop, and reward staff to support company strategy.
Minimum Education and Experience Qualification Requirements
Education
- Medical Doctorate (M.D.) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (D.O.); Internal Medicine or Family Medicine Residency.
- Medical License in the state of application.
Qualifications
- CA Medical License and Board Certified, ideally in Internal Med, Family Med, or as a Hospitalist.
- At least 1 year of relevant experience.
- Valid Driver's License/Insurance.
Experience
- 5+ years of experience in Hospitalist, Family Practice, or as an Internist preferred; also considering recent graduates.
- 3+ years of Administrative and Managed Care Experience preferred.
Skills
- Ability to perform field-based/in-home patient visits.
- Spanish speaking is preferred.
Schedule / Shift
- Full-time, Monday to Friday, standard work hours.
- Home or facility visits two days on the road, three days remote.
