Job Summary
Our client is seeking a Director of Engineering to lead, mentor, and develop a team of engineers and technical professionals. This role is responsible for planning, executing, and overseeing the capital budget while partnering with sales and quality teams to support new business initiatives. The Director will also focus on root cause analysis, implementation of corrective and preventive actions, and maintaining strong relationships with vendors and regulatory agencies.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of engineers and technical professionals.
- Own the planning, execution, and oversight of the capital budget.
- Partner closely with sales and quality to support new business initiatives, including equipment selection and procurement, installation, qualification/validation, start-up activities, and technology transfer to operations for production.
- Provide validation leadership with a focus on root cause analysis and corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
- Support enterprise initiatives across multiple states and site locations.
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with vendors, contractors, consultants, and regulatory or governmental agencies.
Qualifications
- 7+ years of experience in the medical device or pharmaceutical industry.
- 3+ years of leadership experience.
- Bachelor's degree in engineering.
- Experience with packaging equipment (preferably blister highlights), line trials & validation.
- Experience with capital equipment planning & budgeting.
- Preferred: PMO or formal project management leadership experience.
- Preferred: Experience scaling engineering processes in growing organizations.
Experience
- 7+ years of experience in the medical device or pharmaceutical industry.
- 3+ years of leadership experience.
