Job Summary
Our client is seeking an Epic Beaker Clinical Pathology (CP) Analyst responsible for the design, build, and support of the laboratory information system (LIS) for clinical lab workflows, including Chemistry, Hematology, and Microbiology. This role will work with the LIS team to ensure proper integration between our client and their hospital partners.
Key Responsibilities
- Test and Result Build: Configure lab tests and result forms.
- Worklist and Outstanding List Management: Maintain lists for tracking pending specimens.
- Reflex Testing & Calculations: Build automated logic for follow-up tests and calculations.
- Rules Engine: Write and maintain Lab Property Rules for clinical logic automation.
- Instrument Interfacing: Coordinate with interface teams to ensure correct results from lab analyzers.
- Point of Care Integration: Manage data flow from bedside testing devices into patient records.
- Reference Lab Integration: Set up electronic ordering and resulting for external labs.
- Unit and Integrated Testing: Validate new builds in isolation and with other modules.
- Regression Testing: Ensure Epic upgrades do not disrupt existing workflows.
- Validation: Meet regulatory requirements for accuracy and audit trails.
- Issue Resolution: Troubleshoot tickets and provide 24/7 support for critical lab issues.
- Downtime Planning: Maintain procedures for system outages.
- Workflow Analysis: Translate lab processes into digital workflows.
- Provider Communication: Collaborate with physicians for efficient lab order interpretation.
- Regulatory Compliance: Assist lab leadership during inspections.
Qualifications
- Beaker CP certified with experience in Data Innovations middleware and instrument interfacing.
- Experience in multi-hospital and multi-lab facilities.
- Experience in a clinical lab setting or former lab tech background.
