Job Summary
As a Licensed Benefits Representative, you will be responsible for handling inbound customer calls related to employee benefit plans, voluntary benefits, claims, and general coverage inquiries. This is a remote, seasonal role supporting both the Voluntary Benefits (VB) and core benefits teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Respond to incoming calls from clients, members, providers, and employer groups.
- Assist with benefit plan details, claim statuses, coverage questions, and pre-certification information.
- Follow established scripts for Voluntary Benefits (VB) calls.
- Document interactions in systems like Flex, Alegis, Luminis, and internal ticketing tools.
- Meet KPIs including average handle time and call quality.
Qualifications
- Strong soft skills – Ability to stay calm and courteous in challenging calls.
- Previous customer service or call center experience is a plus.
- Ability to navigate multiple systems and retain technical details.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Comfortable working with diverse customers and team members.
Skills
- Proficiency in documenting interactions using various systems.
- Ability to handle high call volumes with effective time management.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Additional Requirements
- Training: 4-6 weeks of paid VB training (approx. 25 hours).
- Equipment provided: Laptop, phone, two monitors, headset, etc.
- Tech requirements: Stable high-speed internet connection (minimum 20 Mbps download), Quiet, distraction-free home office setup.
