Job Summary
Our client is seeking a dedicated Payment Poster responsible for ensuring all daily deposits are accurately recorded in the billing system, posting payments from remittance advice, and processing payments from various insurance payors. The role requires a keen eye for detail and accuracy in reconciling deposit batches and managing payment inquiries. The Payment Poster will support revenue cycle operations, maintain confidentiality, and uphold the organization's mission and values.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure all daily deposits are accurately uploaded and recorded in the billing system.
- Post patient, insurance, and third-party payments from remittance advice and EOBs with accuracy.
- Process manual and automated payments for Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial insurance payors.
- Review and interpret EOB details to confirm accurate patient account balances.
- Reconcile daily deposit batches and confirm all reconciliations prior to month-end close.
- Support the management and monitoring of lockbox remittance posting queues.
- Apply appropriate adjustment and transaction codes for write-offs and denied claims.
- Perform daily and monthly reconciliation of all payment sources.
- Track and resolve incoming payment inquiries timely.
- Review, post, and follow up on denied and zero-pay claims promptly.
- Assist with maintaining and updating the Daily Reconciliation Log.
- Research unidentified payments and ensure proper posting.
- Assign accurate ANSI denial codes for appeals and follow-up activities.
- Provide support across revenue cycle operations as directed.
- Uphold the mission, values, and policies of the organization.
Qualifications
- Capability to work fully onsite in specified locations.
- Patient payment posting experience (at least 1-2 years).
- Knowledge of Explanation of Benefits (EOB).
- Insurance payment posting experience (at least 1-2 years).
Skills
- Attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
