Job Summary
Our client is seeking a dedicated Liaison responsible for addressing patient inquiries via telephone, coordinating physician-ordered diagnostics, managing prescription lifecycles, facilitating outgoing referrals, and providing support as an ophthalmic technician. This multifaceted role requires maintaining the integrity of the Electronic Health Record (EHR) and processing administrative documentation.
Key Responsibilities
- Address patient inquiries regarding symptoms, treatment protocols, and medications.
- Coordinate end-to-end care including MRIs, lab work, and angiographies, securing necessary insurance pre-authorizations.
- Communicate diagnostic results to patients.
- Manage prescription lifecycle through electronic and manual platforms.
- Facilitate outgoing referrals and source external medical files for EHR.
- Provide hands-on support as an ophthalmic technician during clinic hours.
- Process administrative documentation such as FMLA and Worker's Compensation paperwork.
Qualifications
- High school diploma.
- 1+ years of experience in a front office or back office role.
- Knowledge of eye anatomy, testing, and disease terminology.
- Strong data entry skills.
- Experience as an Ophthalmic Assistant or Medical Assistant preferred.
- Medical Assistant certification and bilingual in English or Spanish preferred.
Additional Requirements
The position follows a schedule of Monday to Friday, with an 8-hour shift between 6:30 am to 6:30 pm.
