Job Summary
Our client is seeking a dedicated Patient Account Representative responsible for managing insurance claim services, status management, and appeals. The role involves partnering with third-party health insurers, troubleshooting payment issues, and ensuring financial success through effective receivables management.
Key Responsibilities
- Partner with third-party health insurers to ensure timely and complete payments of outstanding insurance claims.
- Monitor the status of insurance claims, correct and resubmit claims as necessary, and notify billers of errors.
- Process timely appeals of denied, rejected, or delinquent insurance claims.
- Maintain accurate records and information, including preparing and reviewing reports.
- Ensure timely and accurate completion of insurance-related duties to enhance patient relations and financial success.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in a medical billing or health insurance role preferred.
- 2+ years of authorizations experience.
- Problem-solving abilities and quick response capabilities.
- Computer proficiency in Windows-based applications.
- Familiarity with electronic medical records systems, such as Nextgen PM and Epic, is preferred.
- Excellent time management skills in a fast-paced environment.
Experience
- Minimum 3+ years of experience in medical billing or health insurance role preferred.
- Specific experience with insurance guidelines, medical documentation, billing, and third-party reimbursement is strongly preferred.
Skills
- Strong time management in deadline-driven environments.
- Comfort in communicating with providers and clinical teams.
- Ability to prioritize and multitask across multiple payers.
- Attention to detail without sacrificing speed.
- Willingness to learn payer-specific rules and updates.
Additional Requirements
- Work Schedule: Monday to Friday 8:30 am-5:00 pm on-site, with the potential to shift to a hybrid or flexible work schedule after 4 months.
