Job Summary
Our client is seeking a dedicated Medical Assistant to serve a primarily older adult population. The role involves working with complex psychiatric cases and requires a strong clinical judgment and compassion for patients. The position offers a fully remote opportunity and requires interaction with various psychiatric and healthcare settings.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct initial evaluations and follow-up visits for patients, including making appropriate referrals to psychotherapy and care management.
- Engage in regular weekly supervision with an MD to review case lists.
- Manage complex patients with serious mental illnesses, substance use disorders, and dementia.
- Participate in on-call responsibilities which are after-hours by phone for 1 week every 3-4 months, averaging 0-2 calls/day.
- Demonstrate professionalism during patient visits and clinical meetings.
- Engage with metrics relevant to clinical quality and respond to audits, performance reviews, and recommendations.
Qualifications
- Board Certified PMHNP with an active license and DEA to practice in specified states.
- Candidates who are credentialed with national providers are prioritized.
- Compassionate approach to care with strong clinical judgment and psychiatric knowledge.
- Experience with major medical comorbidities and complex care needs.
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with patients, peers, and managers.
Experience
- 3-5 years working as a Nurse Practitioner in acute psychiatric settings, including ER, urgent care, inpatient units, intensive outpatient programs, and other related environments.
- Previous experience providing virtual care or telehealth services is required.
Skills
- Strong computer and software skills, including fluency with Google suite of applications.
- Ability to navigate technology smoothly and effectively use a virtual interface.
- Team player with a flexible and adaptable approach.
Additional Requirements
- M-F 9-5 schedule, with availability for on-call duties.
- Fluency in Spanish and/or Haitian Creole is highly desirable.
