Job Summary
Our client is seeking a Biller to manage and submit claims efficiently. The role involves monitoring claim files, addressing claim rejections, managing internal systems, and supporting special initiatives. The position offers potential for a hybrid work schedule based on proficiency and experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare, review, and submit claims, addressing any pre-submission edits or errors.
- Transmit and monitor electronic claim files (837s) across all payer types.
- Investigate and resolve payer and clearinghouse issues, including claim rejections (999s and 277s).
- Track and manage assigned work using internal systems, queues, and task lists.
- Consistently meet or exceed established productivity standards.
- Identify trends or issues in claims billing and escalate concerns to leadership as needed.
- Provide support on special initiatives such as rebilling efforts, coding support, and system configuration projects.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required.
- At least one year of experience in medical and/or behavioral health billing.
- Minimum of one year working with medical terminology and electronic medical records (EMR) and billing platforms.
- Working knowledge of HCPCS, CPT, and diagnosis coding standards.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, with an intermediate skill level in Excel.
- NextGen experience.
Additional Requirements
- This role offers the possibility of a hybrid work schedule (2 days onsite, 3 days remote).
- Candidates must have their own equipment, with a preference for Windows-based systems for optimal compatibility.
- Must choose a consistent schedule: Monday-Friday, with options of 7:00–3:30pm, 7:30–4:00pm, or 8:00–4:30pm (30-minute lunch).
