Job Summary
Our client is seeking a dedicated Medical Assistant responsible for preparing examination rooms, assisting physicians or APNs during procedures, and maintaining patient flow. The role includes tasks such as obtaining vital signs, performing Point of Care testing, administering injections, scheduling appointments, and coordinating with various departments.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepares examination rooms by cleaning and sterilizing them, and stocks supplies.
- Escorts patients and assists in obtaining vital information including vital signs, weight, height, and health history.
- Assists physicians or APNs during exams and procedures, and performs Point of Care testing.
- Administers intramuscular and Sub Q injections.
- Schedules appointments, manages patient flow, and updates records in EPIC.
- Handles referrals and prior authorizations, and coordinates with pharmacies, labs, and imaging centers.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED.
- MA experience is required.
- Problem-solving and clinical experience.
- Skills in administering injections, performing EKGs, and taking manual blood pressure.
- EPIC experience is preferred.
Experience
- Some clinical experience as a Medical Assistant is required.
Skills
- Technical skills: EPIC software proficiency.
- Soft skills: Positive attitude and problem-solving ability.
Additional Requirements
- Work schedule includes Monday-Friday from 8am to 7:30pm and Saturdays from 8am to 3:30pm.
