Job Summary
Our client is seeking a dedicated Medical Assistant responsible for preparing examination rooms, escorting patients, assisting during exams and procedures, performing Point of Care testing, and managing patient flow. The role also involves updating and maintaining patient information using EPIC, handling referrals, and coordinating with pharmacies and labs.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and sterilize examination rooms for patient visits.
- Escort patients and gather necessary information.
- Assist physicians or nurse practitioners during procedures.
- Perform Point of Care testing and administer injections.
- Schedule appointments and handle patient flow.
- Update and maintain records in EPIC.
- Manage referrals and prior authorizations.
- Coordinate with pharmacies, labs, and imaging services.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Some experience as a Medical Assistant preferred.
- Ability to solve problems and handle clinical tasks.
- Training in administering injections and performing EKGs.
- Ability to take manual blood pressure measurements.
- Experience with EPIC software is a plus.
- Positive attitude and strong interpersonal skills.
Additional Requirements
- Work hours are mostly from 8 am to 5 pm, with one late night until 7 or 8 pm.
