Job Summary
Our client is seeking a dedicated Veterinarian Technician to join their team. The primary goal of this position is to perform and assist with surgical and technical procedures, manage research project logistics, and maintain accurate study documentation.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform or assist with surgical and technical procedures, including injections, blood collection, imaging, euthanasia, anesthesia induction, monitoring, recovery, and animal transport.
- Coordinate research project logistics with investigative staff, including study planning, supply ordering, inventory management, and scheduling.
- Maintain accurate study documentation, medical records, data sheets, and compliance-related records.
- Perform pre- and post-procedural health checks and administer treatments as directed by CMS veterinarians or approved protocols.
- Provide daily animal care, including social, nutritional, and physical enrichment to support animal well-being.
- Assist in training investigative staff on research-related techniques and humane animal use procedures.
- Participate in federally mandated training programs, interdepartmental meetings, and continuing education to stay current on standards, regulations, and best practices.
- Support administrative functions such as drug and supply management, equipment maintenance, room upkeep, and other duties as assigned by CMS leadership.
- Generate end-of-study charges, provide cost estimates for upcoming work, and support cost-recovery activities.
- Ensure regulatory compliance by reviewing protocols, monitoring quality assurance, reporting non-compliance, and adhering to all state, federal, CMS, and IACUC regulations governing animal research.
Qualifications
- 1–3 years of experience and an associate’s or bachelor’s degree in animal science, biological sciences, or veterinary sciences.
- Hands-on experience with anesthesia, intubation experience, comfort working with rabbits and pigs, and strong teamwork abilities.
- Preferred qualifications: ALAT certification.

Additional Requirements
- Monday- Friday 7:30am- 3:30pm. Every 7 weeks - on call.
