Job Summary
Our client is seeking an Insurance Follow Up Representative to investigate unpaid claims and take necessary actions to resolve account balances to zero. This role involves addressing complex eligibility issues, including those related to Financial Assistance Programs and government funding. You will also manage accounts transitioning between insurance and self-pay or charity-care categories.
Key Responsibilities
- Investigate and resolve unpaid claims to bring account balances to zero.
- Manage complex eligibility issues involving Financial Assistance Programs and government funding.
- Transition accounts from insurance to self-pay or charity-care categories as necessary.
- Utilize Epic (or similar EHR systems) and Microsoft Excel for tracking productivity.
- Meet departmental quotas for account touches and "clean claim" resolution.
- Apply knowledge of ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS codes, as well as Medicare, Medicaid, and private payer reimbursement rules.
Qualifications
- Proficiency in Epic (or similar EHR systems) and intermediate Microsoft Excel skills.
- Familiarity with ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS codes.
- Understanding of Medicare, Medicaid, and private payer reimbursement rules.
Experience
- 2-3 years of experience in medical collections/insurance follow-up.
- Experience with self-funded payers (commercial/government).
- Experience with denials/denied claims.
Skills
- Epic EMR experience (preferred).
Additional Requirements
- Hybrid schedule: Must start between 7am and 8am, 2-3 days a week hybrid. Potential to transition to 1 day onsite based on performance.
- Fully onsite for training the first 30 days.
