Job Summary
Our client is seeking a Medical Assistant for a float role primarily serving the senior population under a Medicare Advantage Value-Based Model. The position focuses on building relationships with patients through extended appointments and supporting primary care providers in delivering comprehensive care.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct patient intake, including measuring and recording vital signs, and obtaining medical histories.
- Perform examinations, routine screenings, and phlebotomy.
- Engage with patients, report findings to PCP, and process patient phone messages.
- Administer first aid procedures and health coaching.
- Room members, take vitals, perform EKGs, administer injections, and perform screenings like PHQ-9 depression screenings.
- Assist with administrative work, quality measures, and close Focus on Care Gaps (FOCS).
- See seniors aged 60 and older in a primary care setting.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED) required.
- BLS for healthcare providers required.
- EClinicalWorks or similar EMR experience.
- Experience working with the elderly patient population preferred.
- Value-Based Care experience is preferred.
Experience
- 1 year of experience as a Medical Assistant.
- 6+ months of phlebotomy experience is highly desired.
Skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Excel).
- Adaptability and willingness to learn in a dynamic environment.
- Teamwork and ability to communicate effectively with diverse populations.
- Experience with ECW and other EMR systems is a plus.
Additional Requirements
- Must be comfortable adapting to updated training and processes.
- Punctuality is critical for daily meetings starting at 8 am.
