Job Summary
Our client is seeking a dedicated Scheduler to manage the accurate scheduling of surgical procedures and pre-admission testing. The role involves securing necessary patient and insurance data to prevent conflicts and delays, managing daily operational changes, and acting as a professional liaison to maintain effective communication with patients and healthcare professionals.
Key Responsibilities
- Accurately schedule surgical procedures and pre-admission testing, securing all necessary patient and insurance data to prevent conflicts and delays.
- Manage daily operational changes, adapting to a high-pressure, multi-tasking environment.
- Serve as a professional liaison by communicating timely with patients, physicians, and various departments regarding the schedule.
- Ensure adherence to established scheduling protocols and procedures.
- Handle phone communications promptly and professionally, efficiently addressing caller needs.
- Exercise sound judgment when coordinating complex procedures requiring extensive resources or time.
- Demonstrate effective time management and adapt to changes in technology, policies, and staffing.
- Prepare, distribute, analyze, and report scheduling data as required.
- Report safety issues, concerns, or process deviations to a supervisor.
- Participate in quality improvement and professional training.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Medical Office Experience
- Medical Billing Experience
- Preferred: EPIC Experience
- Preferred: Previous Surgery Scheduling Experience
