Job Summary
Our client is seeking a Records Technician to join their team on a 3 to 6 months contract. The primary responsibilities of this role include reviewing medical records, scanning them into the Electronic Health Record (EHR) system, and managing the influx of 6500 boxes of medical records.
Key Responsibilities
- Review and scan medical records into the EHR system.
- Upload backlogged documents.
- Process records for appointments, messages, lab reports, and dictations efficiently.
- Maintain control of medical records and follow release of information and HIPAA guidelines.
- Work with the Medical Record Manager on administrative tasks as needed.
- Develop and maintain positive relationships with all departments and teams.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of 6 months of experience in Medical Records.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to lift 20 lbs.
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
Experience
- 6 months+ in Medical Records experience.
- Proficiency with NextGen (EHR) preferred.
Skills
- Proficiency in scanning and uploading documents into NextGen.
- Excellent organizational and independent working skills.
- Customer focus and ability to communicate effectively.
- Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint is preferred.
