Job Summary
Our client is seeking a detail-oriented Payment Poster responsible for accurately posting various types of payments, including checks, EFT/ERA transactions, and virtual credit cards. The role involves processing Workers’ Compensation payments, ensuring accurate application of adjustments and denial codes, reconciling daily deposits, and maintaining audit-ready documentation. This is a fully remote contract-to-hire position.
Responsibilities / Job Duties
- Accurately post all payments, including checks, EFT/ERA transactions, virtual credit cards, and manual payments.
- Process Workers’ Compensation payments from multiple TPAs, carriers, and state programs.
- Ensure correct application of contractual adjustments, write-offs, and denial codes.
- Reconcile daily deposits, bank statements, lockbox files, and ERAs to ensure all cash is posted and balanced.
- Maintain and monitor unapplied cash to ensure timely resolution and accurate allocation.
- Identify payment discrepancies, underpayments, and overpayments, routing issues to appropriate teams.
- Process refunds and takebacks in compliance with internal policies.
- Collaborate with AR and billing teams to research payment issues.
- Maintain audit-ready documentation for posted batches and reconciliations.
Minimum Education and Experience Qualification Requirements
Qualifications
- 3+ years of healthcare payment posting/cash applications experience with focus on worker's comp.
- Quality work-from-home setup with limited distractions.
Preferred Skills & Qualifications
- Associates Degree in a related field (accounting or finance).
Schedule / Shift
Monday-Friday 8am-5pm with a 30 min lunch
