Job Summary

Our client is seeking a skilled Medical Biller with expertise in Worker’s Compensation claims to join their team. This role requires precise entry of daily charges in an Electronic Medical Records (EMR) system, ensuring compliance with state-specific Worker’s Compensation fee schedules and reporting guidelines. The position is fully remote, offering flexibility and an opportunity for contract-to-hire.

Responsibilities / Job Duties

• Work within the Electronic Medical Records system (EMR) for accurate daily charge entry.
• Ensure charges align with state-specific Worker’s Compensation fee schedule and reporting guidelines.
• Validate complete clinical documentation (progress notes, therapy logs, treatment plans, authorizations) prior to charge entry.
• Ensure correct CPT, HCPCS, and ICD-10 codes are captured based on provider documentation and coding guidance.
• Assign appropriate modifiers (e.g., GP, GO, 25, 59, KX) based on service type and payer requirements.
• Verify rendering provider, location, POS, and billing provider information for accuracy.
• Validate insurance coverage and authorization requirements for commercial payers prior to posting charges.
• Collaborate with operations team to resolve any missing or incomplete documentation.

Minimum Education and Experience Qualification Requirements

Experience

• 3+ years of healthcare billing experience with a focus on Worker’s Comp claims; a strong Worker’s Comp background is essential for this role.

Skills

• Ability to work effectively in a quality work-from-home setup with limited distractions.

Schedule / Shift

M-F, 8am-5pm with a 1-hour lunch.
