Job Summary
Our client is seeking a highly experienced Coding Analyst to develop, document, and maintain code level benefit definitions for a multi-state and multi-market organization. This role involves collaborating with various departments to ensure compliance and resolve conflicts, integrating essential health benefits, and maintaining accurate benefit configuration templates.
Key Responsibilities
- Utilize correct coding guidelines to research and interpret complex regulations while collaborating with policy and markets.
- Create, maintain, review, and analyze configuration templates for benefit requirements.
- Perform peer reviews and provide documentation of results within defined SLA guidelines.
- Communicate effectively with various internal departments to improve processes and resolve issues.
- Participate in the annual benefit change process with Product Management and Benefit Analysts.
- Create and utilize reports to analyze data for issue resolution and impact analysis.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to teammates and peers.
- Research and identify industry standard coding practices to stay current.
- Adhere to defined SLAs while accommodating urgent requests.
- Create and maintain SOPs and supporting process flows.
- Update and maintain the data management tool.
- Attend and support internal and external meetings as needed.
- Assist in the training and development of new hires and continuous training for department peers.
- Lead and facilitate assigned projects.
- Assist in the Quarterly Code process.
- Act as back-up for Team lead in meetings or other functions as appropriate.
- Perform any other job-related instructions as requested.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent years of relevant work experience is required.
- Certified Medical Coder (CPC, RHIT, or RHIA) is required.
Experience
- Minimum of five (5) years of medical coding or medical billing experience on the Payer side is required.
- Managed Care experience is required, preferably in benefits coding, claims processing, and/or benefit configuration (Medicare/Medicaid).

- General office environment; may be required to sit or stand for extended periods of time.
