Research Financial Analyst (Post-Award) – Multiple Levels

We are expanding our Research Finance team and actively hiring multiple Post-Award Research Financial Analysts across four professional levels. These positions are integral to supporting a robust and predominantly NIH-funded research portfolio. Candidates will partner directly with principal investigators, provide high-quality financial analysis, ensure post-award compliance, and contribute to the long-term success of our research mission.
Open Positions
We are currently hiring for the following levels:
Level I (0–1.5 years)
- Ideal for sharp, motivated early-career professionals with strong aptitude, communication skills, and interest in research finance.
- Comfort with numbers and willingness to learn is essential.
Level II (3+ years)
- Solid grants knowledge with strong independence and understanding of post-award processes.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in research finance, grants administration, or financial analysis.
- Ability to manage a portfolio, work directly with PIs, and handle complex budgeting/forecasting.
- NIH experience strongly preferred.
Level III – Senior Analyst (5+ years)
- All Level II qualifications plus ability to independently manage multi-core or programmatic awards (often multi-million-dollar portfolios).
- Strong project management skills and ability to navigate overlapping deadlines.
- Functions as an informal leader and subject matter resource (no direct reports).
Lead Analyst (7+ years)
- Expert-level post-award experience with ability to mentor others and oversee complex strategic portfolios.
- Provides advanced financial guidance and drives strong compliance across awards.
Key Responsibilities (All Levels)
Responsibilities scale in complexity by level and may include:
- Managing post-award financials, monitoring expenditures, and ensuring budgetary compliance.
- Conducting financial analysis, forecasting, and multi-year projections for investigator portfolios.
- Preparing variance analyses, resolving funding issues, and supporting year-end closeout.
- Reviewing and approving financial transactions for allowability and allocability.
- Supporting progress reports, rebudgeting, extensions, and supplemental requests.
- Ensuring compliance with GAAP, NIH Grants Policy Statement, OMB Uniform Guidance, FDP, CAS, and institutional policies.
- Collaborating closely with PIs, research staff, and administrative leadership.

- Agiloft (contracts system)
