-Overview of responsibilities (day-to-day, metrics, etc):

A Pediatric RBT works one-on-one with your child in the comfort of your home. They follow a plan created by a BCBA (the lead therapist) to help your child learn new skills, practice positive behaviors, and build confidence in everyday life.

Work with Your Child on Goals

• Play games, do activities, and practice skills that match your child’s therapy plan.

• Help with communication, social skills, and daily routines.

• Use strategies to reduce challenging behaviors and encourage positive ones.

Keep Track of Progress

• Take notes during each session about what went well and what needs more practice.

• Share updates with the BCBA so the plan can be adjusted if needed.

Work Together with You

• Show you tips and strategies so you can use them when the RBT isn’t there.

• Answer questions about your child’s progress and activities.

Help with Behavior Challenges

• Use calm, safe ways to handle tough moments.

• Encourage your child with positive reinforcement when they do well.

Practice in Everyday Life

• Work on skills during normal routines like meals, playtime, or outings.

• Help your child be more independent in ways that fit their age and abilities.

Follow the Rules

• Stick to the therapy plan and keep your child’s information private.

• Stay trained and up to date on how to best support your child.
