Job Summary
Our client is seeking a full-time Infusion Specialist to administer patient care services at an infusion center. The role involves providing clinical services in a multi-specialty infusion center, offering therapy for conditions in various specialties such as neurology, gastroenterology, rheumatology, cardiology, and allergy/asthma. The position is designed for nurses who thrive in a fast-paced environment, delivering infusion therapy using advanced technology.
Key Responsibilities
- Preparation of medication for administration in an infusion center.
- Provide infused and injectable medications to scheduled patients.
- Accessing PICC lines and port-a-cath for medication administration and maintenance.
- Educate patients and caregivers regarding infusion drug therapy information.
- Clinically monitor patient treatment, progression, safety, and outcomes.
- Communicate care with ordering providers, in-center staff, and regional operations managers.
- Assist with onsite functions including patient scheduling, charting, and inventory management.
- Ability to work autonomously.
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or Associate Degree in nursing (ADN).
- State Board of Nursing Licensed; active and unencumbered.
- Must possess valid basic life support (BLS) certification.
- CRNI, VA-BC, OCN preferred.
- Strong oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and in partnership with staff and leadership.
Experience
- 2+ years’ experience working as a registered nurse in a clinical setting preferred.
- Preferred experience in critical care or outpatient/homecare infusion settings.
- Recent intravenous administration and catheter management experience.
