Job Summary
Our client is seeking a Floater, who is a Licensed Vocational Nurse or Licensed Psychiatric Nurse, responsible for providing basic medical services to patients in an outpatient recovery environment. This includes maintaining standards of professional nursing practice, ensuring the safe delivery of medication in accordance with company policy and procedures, and maintaining thorough documentation of patient records and medical files per state and federal regulations.
Responsibilities / Job Duties
- Implement all aspects of receiving, storing, and dispensing controlled and non-controlled substances.
- Perform daily reconciliation of controlled substances as required by applicable federal and state regulations.
- Maintain accurate individual patient medication dosage sheets and urinalysis results according to regulations.
- Administer medication dosages and evaluate patients for side effects or reactions.
- Document and sign entries in patient treatment records as legally required.
- Ensure patient confidentiality and security at the dispensing window.
- Administer medication to patients who are locally hospitalized as needed.
- Provide appropriate documentation to Medical Director and/or Clinic Manager.
- Complete required forms in their entirety.
- Maintain patient charts and filing.
- Observe all applicable federal and state regulations.
- Orient new patients to the programs’ policies, rules, and procedures.
- Assist with intakes of new patients.
- Perform venipuncture and collect lab specimens as needed.
- Prepare, stock, and maintain exam rooms and dispensary.
- Complete internal and external reports/documents as required.
- Collect patient fees and record them in the Cash Fee Collection Log.
- Complete superbill for services provided to each patient.
- Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Education and Experience Qualification Requirements
Education
- Active and current California LVN license.
