Job Summary
Our client is seeking a Behavioral Health Nurse Manager for their Care and Case Management team. This role involves guiding members through complex medical and behavioral health situations, focusing on holistic care with an emphasis on behavioral health and substance abuse disorders. Candidates will collaborate with a multidisciplinary clinical team to deliver innovative remote care.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver coordinated, patient-centered virtual Behavioral Health/Substance Use Disorder Care Management via telephone and/or video.
- Generate impactful care plans with members and a multidisciplinary care team.
- Help members navigate complex conditions, treatments, benefits, and the healthcare system.
- Partner with members’ local providers to ensure coordinated care.
- Provide compassionate, longitudinal follow-up care and build supportive relationships.
- Assist through acute healthcare episodes and provide case management support.
- Coordinate resources for clinical and social problems.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
- Active Compact RN license in good standing; must reside in a compact NLC state.
- Active California Nursing License and CCM Certification preferred.
- 5+ years of nursing experience preferred.
- 2+ years experience in behavioral health and/or substance use fields.
- 2+ years in care, case, and disease management within a health plan or TPA.
- Willingness to obtain and maintain licensure in multiple states.
- Comfort discussing various medical conditions and experience across age ranges.

- Experience working remotely preferred; proficiency with technology and medical record systems.
- Exceptionally empathetic, adept at relating to patients and families going through challenging times.
- Ability to meet volume goals efficiently in a fast-growing environment.
- Flexible and adaptable to a rapidly changing work environment.
- Strict adherence to security and HIPAA regulations for patient information protection.
Skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills; competence in simplifying medical information for patients.
- Excellent grammar, attention to detail, and efficient documentation skills with a patient-centric approach.
