Job Summary
Our client is seeking a Manufacturing Technician specialized in catheter and balloon production. The primary responsibilities include precision manufacturing, assembly, and testing of medical-grade catheters and balloon systems. The role demands meticulous attention to detail and quality, adhering to cleanroom protocols and FDA/ISO standards. The ideal candidate will have excellent hand-eye coordination and the ability to maintain precision in a highly regulated environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate catheter extrusion equipment for multi-lumen tubing production.
- Perform catheter shaft preparation and tip forming operations.
- Apply radiopaque marker bands and conduct dimensional inspections.
- Execute balloon bonding and folding procedures; inspect for defects.
- Assemble complete catheter systems; perform adhesive and thermal bonding.
- Conduct quality control tests including burst pressure and leak testing.
- Maintain cleanroom operations and perform equipment maintenance.
- Utilize ERP systems for documentation and compliance.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required; associate degree preferred.
- Certificate programs in medical device manufacturing are advantageous.
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in medical device manufacturing, particularly with catheters.
Experience
- Minimum 3-5 years of hands-on experience in medical device manufacturing, specifically with catheter and/or balloon catheter production.
- Demonstrated experience with extrusion processes, balloon forming, and precision assembly operations.
- Prior experience in a Class 7/8 cleanroom manufacturing environment required.
Skills
- Proficiency in catheter manufacturing processes including extrusion and bonding.
- Hands-on experience with balloon molding techniques.
- Skilled in using precision tools and testing equipment.
- Knowledgeable in ERP systems and microscopy for quality verification.
Education
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Associate degree in Manufacturing Technology or related field strongly preferred.
