Job Summary
Our client is seeking a dynamic Chief Financial Officer (CFO) or VP of Finance to oversee and manage the financial operations of the company, a small start-up. The role requires a hands-on leader capable of wearing multiple hats and contributing to both day-to-day tasks and strategic financial management. As the senior executive responsible for financial management, the CFO/VP of Finance will play a pivotal role in guiding the company alongside the CEO and Board of Directors, ensuring fiscal soundness, regulatory compliance, and overall financial sustainability. The ideal candidate will also be responsible for setting up financial structures and team development from the ground up.
Responsibilities / Job Duties
- Provide financial insights and guidance to the CEO, executive leadership team, and Board of Directors.
- Ensure fiscal soundness, sustainability, and regulatory compliance of the organization.
- Oversee finance, accounting, audit, tax, budgeting, and other related functions.
- Manage 2-3 direct reports and assemble the right financial team.
- Develop and implement financial policies, procedures, and strategies.
- Handle financial planning & analysis, investor relations, risk management, and procurement functions.
Experience
- Proven track record in financial management, preferably in a leadership role.
- Experience in start-up environments and the ability to set up financial teams and systems.
- Hands-on expertise and MAPD-specific financial background are desirable.
Skills
- Strong leadership and strategic decision-making skills.
- Excellent financial analysis and risk management capabilities.
- Ability to work collaboratively with executive leadership and external stakeholders.
