Job Summary:
Our client is seeking an Ophthalmic Technician I to provide excellent patient care encompassing basic eye health to surgical interventions. The role involves assisting physicians with patient examinations and treatments, managing patient appointments, triaging phone calls, performing testing and imaging as needed, and ensuring exam rooms are prepared among other duties.
Key Responsibilities:

Pre-examination of patients for all specialties across all sites and assist physicians with in-office procedures such as lasers and minor interventions.

Ensure excellent patient interaction by greeting and assisting patients and visitors, ensuring completion of screening processes, and PPE compliance.

Facilitate patient visit processes to minimize unnecessary contact and enhance efficiency.

Interpret hospital and department policies to patients and staff, enhancing understanding and positive interaction.

Manage patient histories and perform basic diagnostic testing including visual fields, A-scans, topography, and OCT.

Oversee documentation accuracy, drug log reconciliation, instrument sterilization, and calibration.

Efficient triage and resolution of patient calls related to post-operative concerns, prescription requests, and medical inquiries.

Maintain detailed patient records and ensure proactive communication through the EHR system.

Resolve patient safety and experience concerns within the scope of training and education.

Engage with customers by welcoming them, explaining steps, answering service questions, and fostering a supportive environment.
