Job Summary
Our client is seeking a Procurement Specialist to build vendor relationships and secure the best prices on products. This role involves overseeing the procurement process from start to finish, identifying sourcing needs, negotiating contracts, and ensuring timely delivery of products and services. The selected candidate will work closely with other departments to ensure procurement decisions align with the company’s goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct market research to identify potential suppliers, pricing, and products.
- Analyze supplier bids and negotiate contracts.
- Maintain accurate records and track all procurement activities.
- Evaluate suppliers and their performance periodically.
- Participate in strategic planning meetings to align procurement goals with company objectives.
- Maintain an up-to-date understanding of procurement regulations and laws.
- Develop policies and procedures for the procurement process.
- Establish and maintain relationships with suppliers and other stakeholders.
- Identify areas for cost savings and implement cost-saving strategies.
- Drive back-order improvements to support service and sales business.
- Evaluate and negotiate contracts with vendors.
- Communicate shortages and backorders of drugs and supplies to the leadership team.
- Assist with managing destruction and waste.
- Perform good documentation practices aligned with CGMP and company policies.
- Coordinate all product returns with vendors and follow through on credits.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Excellent communication, negotiation, analytical and organizational skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- SAP/PK management, Life file, Procuro knowledge preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree in business, economics, or supply chain management.
Experience
- 3 to 5 years of experience in Procurement, Distribution, Warehousing, Shipping, Receiving, Logistics, Material handling, Customer Service, Inventory Control or similar fields.
- Detail-oriented skill applicable to check reports, records, and related data.
