Job Summary
Our client is seeking a motivated and skilled Process Engineer to join their team. The ideal candidate will lead and assist in the creation, implementation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of manufacturing equipment, processes, systems, and documentation for medical device production. The role involves collaboration with Product Development, Operations, Supply Chain, and Quality Assurance to ensure production line efficiency and compliance with company standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure production equipment and processes adhere to Quality Management System Guidelines and SOPs.
- Develop system-level design strategies and coordinate the implementation of process improvements.
- Support the design, development, testing, and refinement of manufacturing systems and subsystems.
- Report opportunities for improvement and provide status reports and progress reviews.
- Maximize line utilization, material flow, and efficiencies while reducing scrap.
- Support preventative maintenance and calibrations to minimize equipment downtime.
- Diagnose and rectify equipment and process faults and product non-conformances.
- Contribute new ideas and demonstrate a commitment to quality and customer satisfaction.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Electrical Engineering.
- 5 years of relevant experience required; 10+ years preferred.
- Experience in medical device manufacturing is preferred.
- Ability to analyze and correct complex product and/or process issues.
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to provide mathematical solutions.
- Proven mechanical and electrical problem-solving skills.
Skills
- Basic computer skills in word processing, spreadsheets, and databases.
- Strong interpersonal communication skills.
- Documentation and organizational skills.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision and in a fast-paced environment.
Additional Requirements
Must be able to frequently push, pull, and carry up to 45 pounds. The position requires the ability to work in both office and manufacturing environments with possible extended hours during evenings, weekends, and holidays.
