Job Summary
Our client is seeking a Patient Access Manager who will work in a fast-paced environment. The candidate is expected to adhere to Standard Operating Procedures and manage patient volume effectively. Key responsibilities will include managing appointment scheduling, patient check-in, and ensuring privacy and efficient patient service through phone and in-person interactions. This position involves the management of patient records, scheduling preferences, and interaction with patients and their families.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage patient volume in the Emergency Department ranging from 145-170 per day.
- Evaluate processes for improvements and actively participate in implementing solutions.
- Maintain privacy in all interactions and independently handle patient calls, scheduling, and registration.
- Facilitate scheduling preferences with patients and families before finalizing appointments.
- Answer and screen calls, confirm appointments, and maintain appointment schedules.
- Perform patient communication with professionalism and ensure document accuracy.
- Ensure efficient scheduling and registration in line with expected metrics.
- Maintain communication with management and care teams to resolve scheduling conflicts.
- Use electronic medical records effectively according to departmental guidelines.
- Prepare patient cancellation letters and reschedule appointments as needed.
- Verify patient demographics, insurance, and maintain effective scheduling skills.
- Complete all registration elements and update patient tracking systems promptly.
- Check patients in and out, manage follow-up appointments, and provide after-visit summaries.
- Exhibit exceptional customer service and prioritize customer needs while expanding patient relationships.
