Job Summary
Our client is seeking a dedicated Nurse Practitioner specializing in OBG to join their medical team. The position involves obtaining health histories, performing physical examinations, conducting laboratory tests, and diagnosing and treating the physical, social, and emotional health needs of clients.
Responsibilities / Job Duties
- Perform history and physical examinations on adults and children, including pre-employment, school, sports, and well-child periodic screenings.
- Conduct Pap smears, breast examinations, and other necessary medical services.
- Counsel clients on birth control and prescribe as appropriate.
- Gather complete medical histories and perform physical examinations on each client.
- Provide treatment for and document various diseases.
- Write prescriptions as deemed appropriate by the supervising physician.
- Review lab test and diagnostic imaging results and arrange for appropriate follow-up.
- Provide and document health education and review referral/consultant reports for follow-up.
- Respond to miscellaneous medical questions in the absence of the Nursing Director or Medical Director.
- Assist in the training of staff and participate in provider meetings, chart reviews, and quality assurance activities.
- Provide backup support for the nursing director and medical director.
- Maintain privacy and confidentiality of both client and employee medical records.
- Conduct only work-related conversations when clients are waiting for service.
Minimum Education and Experience Qualification Requirements
Education
- Equivalent to a Master’s degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program.
- State of California Nurse Practitioner license required.
Qualifications
- Knowledge of nursing processes and medical models.
- Knowledge of health and physical assessment and ability to perform emergency resuscitation.
- Proficient in medical diagnosis and appropriate treatments.
- Knowledge of sanitation practices, proper nutrition, and related programs.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships and manage and lead clinic operations.
- Must provide proof of up-to-date COVID-19 vaccinations, including full primary series and booster dose when eligible.
