Job Summary
At our client, the Cardiac Sonographer plays a vital role in the care team, reporting to the Director of Cardiac Imaging. This position includes preparing patients and diagnostic equipment for imaging procedures, performing full transthoracic echocardiography, fielding member questions, entering accurate data, assisting in interpretation, and maintaining medical records.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform echocardiographic exams using 2-D imaging, M-Mode, CW, PW, and Color Flow Doppler.
- Prepare preliminary reports for physician review.
- Utilize ultrasound enhancing agents and perform saline contrast studies as needed.
- Explain procedures clearly to members and address concerns.
- Accurately enter test data and patient information into clinical systems.
- Maintain and calibrate equipment, ensuring quality control.
- Consider age-specific needs of each member in all duties.
- Assist with transporting patients to and from exam rooms.
- Travel locally/regionally up to 50% with a portable echo machine.
Qualifications
- Current state licensure(s), including RDMS, medical imaging permit, and BLS certification.
- Credentialed as RDCS (ARDMS) or RCS (CCI).
- Fluency in Spanish or other community languages (as applicable).
Experience
- Minimum of 2 years as an Imaging Tech.
- Proficient with PC systems.
