Job Summary
Our client is seeking a Revenue Cycle Cash Application Supervisor to lead all cash posting and application activities within the Revenue Cycle department. This role involves supervising a team of approximately 10 cash application specialists and ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with company policies and payer requirements. As the right hand to the Cash Application Manager, the Supervisor will drive efficiency, maintain data integrity, and support a culture of accountability and collaboration.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise the daily cash posting workflow, including delegation and monitoring of assignments.
- Oversee processing of all incoming payments (approximately $100M+ monthly; 300–500 batches per team member).
- Review and reconcile all batches to ensure they balance back to bank extracts and reporting.
- Partner closely with Treasury to assign operations on bank reports and confirm accuracy.
- Conduct quality reviews (“chair side reviews”) of cash posting to identify and correct errors; implement re-education where needed.
- Assist the Director and Manager with reporting on cash receipts and posting metrics.
- Develop, coach, and mentor team members to meet performance and quality goals.
- Lead performance improvement plans and employee reviews as needed.
- Ensure staff receive ongoing and new-hire training necessary to meet department standards.
- Handle HR-related issues in coordination with leadership and Human Resources.
- Collaborate with leadership to identify process improvements and enhance team efficiency.
- Meet regularly with leadership to discuss department performance, challenges, and successes.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support departmental and company goals.
Performance Metrics
- Timely closure of all cash batches prior to month-end.
- Department DSO (Days Sales Outstanding) metrics maintained within target range.
- Accuracy of postings verified through chair side reviews and reporting.
- Staff adherence to established processes and turnaround times.
