The Center for Recovery and Wellness is a community center serving individuals and families facing substance use disorders, offering a holistic approach to addiction, from prevention, to formal treatment, to recovery services, and wellness programming. JOB PURPOSE
Perform nursing duties, medication administration oversight, and psychoeducation at the Center for Recovery and Wellness. Effectively interact with clients, significant others, and other treatment team members while maintaining standards of professional nursing. Serve as administrative coordinator for the Nursing team.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES
Direct Services
- Assess medical status of new and existing clients, refer for outside medical care when appropriate
- Perform on-going assessments
- Monitor physical health needs for patients receiving ancillary withdrawal services
- Follow physician orders in a timely manner and maintain high standards of client care
- Administer medications as prescribed, monitor for adverse effects
- Available on-site daily for support to residents and for oversight and documentation of assisted self-medication
- Dispose of all discontinued medication in compliance with regulations
- Participate in the orientation of clients to the program and facility
- Obtain and document health histories from overall Center for Recovery certified OASAS programs
Administrative Tasks
- Initiate and implement client care plans, interact with medical health care providers, oversee medical appointments, referrals, and follow-up appointments
- Maintain the standards of accurate and complete recording and reporting of client’s files
- Responsible for maintaining stock of supplies and equipment
- Responsible for maintaining systems for medication tracking and any data reporting related to client medical/health information
- Serve as primary point of contact for external organizations and/or vendors used primarily by the Medical Office
Shift: Monday-Friday 3pm-11pm
