Job Summary
Our client is seeking an experienced Medical Assistant who is driven by a commitment to providing outstanding patient care. This role involves working in a team dedicated to supporting patients through their treatment journey by assisting with clinical and administrative duties.
Key Responsibilities
- Escort patients to and from exam rooms, physician offices, and treatment areas.
- Record patient data, including vital signs, height, weight, allergies, and medication changes.
- Obtain necessary patient records and verify presence of consent prior to treatment or procedures.
- Prepare and stock exam and treatment rooms; order supplies as needed.
- Assist physicians with exams and procedures as requested.
- Provide delegated patient education, distribute educational literature, and assist with patient queries.
- Administer subcutaneous and intramuscular injections as per protocol.
- Maintain exam and treatment room hygiene and disinfection protocols.
- Process instruments and equipment as required.
- Handle patient referrals and follow-up calls.
- Schedule patient tests, procedures, hospital admissions, and follow-up appointments.
- Obtain new patient records and previous test results as necessary.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Certificate of graduation from an accredited program for Medical Assistants required.
- Minimum two years of experience as a medical assistant or nursing assistant in a hospital or clinic setting.
- Current CPR certification required.
Additional Requirements
- Candidates must pass a background check and non-federal drug test post-offer of employment.
- Proof of vaccination against influenza is required, with reasonable accommodations considered for exemptions.
