Job Summary
Our client is seeking a Certified Pharmacy Technician responsible for mixing, preparing, and producing Compounded Sterile Products (CSP) under the direct supervision of a pharmacist. The role involves maintaining the sterile compounding area and following all Company SOPs.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform technical and aseptic manipulations in the ISO 5 laminar hoods.
- Accurately compound all required types of sterile preparations and comply with batch records.
- Operate all compounding equipment accurately according to policy and procedure.
- Perform sterile techniques such as injecting active drugs into sterile IV bags and filling syringes with medication.
- Complete batch records for orders using good documentation practices.
- Ensure the compounding room and related equipment are cleaned and maintained daily.
- Properly label and package finished products.
- Cooperate with team members to accomplish departmental goals and adhere to policies and procedures.
- Demonstrate thorough knowledge of the job and complete all annual competencies and skills validations.
Qualifications
- Licensed as a Pharmacy Technician in Texas (TSBP) and/or (CPhT) required.
- ACPE Sterile products certification.
- Knowledge of cGMP regulations as it pertains to 21 CFR 210, 21 CFR 211, and USP standards.
- Able to work a full shift in a sterile environment with bunny suit garb and goggles.
- Able to work weekends and overtime as required.
Skills
- Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Strong mathematical skills including the ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent.
- Proficient in Database, Development, Internet, Inventory, Manufacturing, Order processing systems, Spreadsheet, and Word Processing software.
Additional Requirements
- Must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to stand for long hours throughout the day.
- Regular exposure to wet/humid conditions and moving mechanical parts.
