Overview:
Medix is hiring on behalf of a leading clinical research site in Suffolk, VA, seeking a Sub-Investigator (NP) to join their growing team. This site conducts Phase 2–4 outpatient clinical trials in areas such as primary care, obesity/weight management, cardiometabolic health, hypertension, gout, and women’s health.
This is an excellent opportunity for licensed providers interested in clinical research, especially those looking to transition from traditional patient care to a more structured, data-driven setting. Research experience is preferred, but not required — full training is provided.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the Principal Investigator in the oversight and conduct of clinical trials
- Evaluate participant eligibility and assess adverse events
- Perform delegated medical tasks such as reviewing vitals, labs, ECGs, and diagnostic reports
- Provide clinical oversight for study participants, ensuring their safety and rights
- Educate and counsel participants on study protocols and medical procedures
- Obtain informed consent and ensure documentation accuracy
- Collaborate with research teams to ensure GCP and protocol compliance
- Participate in investigator meetings, sponsor visits, and ongoing training
- Act as a mentor to clinical research staff, modeling professionalism and best practices
Qualifications:
- Licensed Nurse Practitioner (NP) in good standing in Virginia
- Prior clinical experience required
- Previous research experience or GCP knowledge is a plus
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Detail-oriented, adaptable, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
