Job Summary
Our client is seeking a Senior Healthcare Data Scientist with expertise in Machine Learning/AI, Statistics, and Operations Research. The role involves supporting the organization's strategic priority of becoming data-driven and outcomes-oriented, particularly through the use of healthcare data.
Key Responsibilities
- Support and drive analytic efforts focused on strategic priorities and clinical/business challenges.
- Develop and manage predictive and prescriptive analytic models supporting clinical, operations, and business initiatives.
- Deploy solutions to provide actionable insights integrated with application systems.
- Collaborate with analytics and clinical/business stakeholders to develop and validate pilot projects.
- Conduct statistical analysis to assess objectives from pilots.
- Create presentations summarizing analytics project results that support organizational strategies.
- Build and extend the analytics portfolio with comprehensive documentation.
- Lead cross-functional teams to drive innovation improving quality of care, outcomes, and efficiencies.
- Manage multi-disciplinary projects involving technology, clinical, and business groups.
- Mentor staff in Machine Learning/AI, Statistics, and Operations Research techniques.
- Maintain relationships with business, IT, and clinical leaders to facilitate collaboration.
Qualifications
- PhD in applied mathematics, data science, or a related field; comparable experience may substitute.
Experience
- 7+ years of industry experience in Machine Learning/AI, Statistics, or Operations Research.
- Proficiency in SQL, Python, and R.
- Experience with machine learning/AI problems and mathematical optimization.
- Experience developing and deploying healthcare-relevant predictive and prescriptive models.
- Text mining and NLP is preferred.
Skills
- Able to develop machine learning and deep learning algorithms from scratch.
- Strong skills in data analysis, statistical methods, and computational algorithm development.
- Effective oral and written communication with advanced data visualization skills.
