Lead CT Technologist
Kirkland, WA
- Schedule: Monday to Thursday, 8:00 AM – 6:30 PM
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
As the Lead CT Technologist, you will apply prescribed ionizing radiation to perform CT procedures, oversee daily operations, and lead a team of CT Technologists. This role combines hands-on diagnostic imaging with leadership responsibilities.
Clinical Responsibilities:
- Perform advanced CT scan procedures, including administering contrast material under a radiologist’s supervision.
- Adjust equipment settings to ensure precise imaging and radiation safety (e.g., kilovolts, milliamperes, exposure time).
- Provide patients with clear, respectful communication and maintain their dignity throughout procedures.
- Obtain patient history, start IVs when necessary, and ensure scans align with quality standards.
- Use Cerner to schedule exams, document lab work, and update patient status.
Leadership & Administrative Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily work assignments and ensure staff productivity and clinical quality.
- Train new employees on equipment and procedures.
- Manage staffing levels and approve timecards.
- Maintain department policies, protocols, and quality control standards.
- Coordinate equipment maintenance and repairs to minimize downtime.
- Track licensure and certifications for compliance.
- Support budget guidelines by managing inventory efficiently.
- Ensure compliance with Joint Commission (JC) standards.
Required Qualifications:
- Licensure:
- Current Washington State Radiologic Technologist license
- ARRT Certification (or registry-eligible; must obtain ARRT certification within 45 days of hire)
- Registered in CT Technology with ARRT within one year of hire
- Certifications:
- Current Healthcare Provider BLS certification by hire date
- Skills:
- Training in operating CT scanners
- Knowledge of patient safety and radiation protocols (e.g., ALARA principles)
Preferred Qualifications:
- Strong interpersonal skills for patient care and team collaboration
- Experience with Cerner or similar electronic medical record systems
- Ability to troubleshoot and perform basic maintenance on CT equipment
