Position Overview
We are seeking a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) to join our multiple locations through the Greater Seattle area. In this role, you will support patients and providers by preparing exam rooms, assisting with procedures, documenting care, and ensuring efficient patient flow. You will work under the supervision of a healthcare practitioner to deliver compassionate, high-quality care.
This position includes a $5,000 sign-on bonus for eligible new hires and a +7.5% pay differential for employees assigned to a qualifying clinic location.
Responsibilities
- Greet and prepare patients for exams, including obtaining vitals, reviewing medications, medical history, and allergies
- Assist clinicians during exams and procedures, ensuring patient comfort
- Dispense medications, perform ancillary tests (blood draws, rapid testing), and prepare lab specimens
- Maintain clean, organized, and fully stocked exam and lab rooms
- Manage clinic and clinician schedules to optimize efficiency and patient flow
- Collaborate with Patient Care Coordinators in daily huddles to review schedules and special patient needs
- Document all patient care accurately in the EMR system
- Adhere to HIPAA and clinic safety guidelines
- Contribute to team meetings and workflow improvement initiatives
Qualifications
- Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) credential at time of hire
- Active Washington State certification (CMA or Interim CMA)
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- BLS certification strongly preferred (or willingness to obtain within 6 months)
- Experience with EPIC EMR preferred
- Strong communication, multitasking, and patient care skills
- Ability to work independently or collaboratively in a fast-paced clinic setting
- Professional discretion in handling sensitive and confidential information
Working Environment & Physical Requirements
- Clinical setting with frequent patient interactions
- Frequent use of computers, phones, and medical record systems
- Ability to stand for extended periods and move freely throughout the clinic
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. occasionally
