Job Summary
The Quality Assurance Specialist is responsible for monitoring, evaluating, and improving the quality of customer service interactions within a healthcare setting. This role ensures compliance with organizational policies, healthcare regulations, and service excellence standards. The QA Specialist will conduct audits, identify trends, and provide actionable feedback to support training, coaching, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Responsibilities / Job Duties
- Audit inbound and outbound calls and other customer interactions to assess competency and identify service gaps.
- Work with Physicians on staff to help identify scheduling gaps.
- Identify patterns, process gaps, and training needs through root cause analysis of customer service issues.
- Provide clear, constructive feedback and collaborate with leadership, training, and operations teams to improve service quality.
- Generate detailed reports on audit findings, trends, and performance metrics for management review.
- Partner with compliance and regulatory teams to ensure adherence to healthcare requirements and privacy standards.
- Support ongoing process improvements to enhance patient and member experience.
- Stay current on healthcare regulations, payer guidelines, and industry best practices in customer experience and quality assurance.
Minimum Education and Experience Qualification Requirements
Qualifications
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred, or equivalent work experience.
- 2+ years of quality assurance, auditing, or customer service experience in healthcare or health insurance.
- Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations and healthcare customer service practices.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Proficiency in QA software, Microsoft Office Suite, and CRM/Call Center systems.
- Ability to provide objective feedback and influence improvement in a professional manner.
