Job Summary
We are seeking a Medical Assistant to join our client. The primary responsibilities include greeting patients, assisting with registration and scheduling, supporting physicians during examinations, and conducting onsite lab testing. The role involves providing excellent customer service and maintaining clean examination rooms.
Key Responsibilities
- Greet patients and assist with registration, scheduling, measuring vital signs, and collecting health history.
- Returning calls and answering MyChart messages.
- Provide support to physicians during examinations, minor office surgeries, dressing changes, and other first aid procedures.
- Assist with immunizations or injections if certified.
- Assist patients with prescription requests, address pharmacy callbacks, provider orders, and update charting and filing.
- Conduct onsite lab testing, including EKG, pulmonary function, blood glucose, and urine pregnancy tests.
- Maintain clean, warm, and inviting examination rooms for patient visits.
- Provide excellent customer service exemplifying values.
- Occasional travel to assist other local clinics may be required.
Qualifications
- Preferred certification: CMA, CCMA, or RMA.
- Certification Tests: American Medical Technologists (AMT), National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT), National Healthcareer Association (NHA), American Registry of Medical Assistants (ARMA), American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA).
Experience
- 0-1 years of experience as a Medical Assistant.
Skills
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to support physicians and perform minor procedures.
- Proficiency in conducting onsite lab tests.
Additional Requirements
- Some travel to assist other local clinics may be required.
