Job Summary
Our client is seeking a passionate and driven Patient Financial Counselor to manage the financial aspects of patient care and services. This role involves contributing to the clinic's efficiency, enhancing patient satisfaction, and improving financial outcomes. The successful candidate will serve as a key point of contact for all financial matters, ensuring patients have a positive experience while navigating their financial responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct insurance verifications for all patients before the New Patient appointment and treatment cycle.
- Ensure that insurance benefits are correctly entered in the practice management system and track any changes during the patient's care.
- Collect payments from patients prior to scheduled services and ensure valid insurance information is available in the patient’s chart.
- Address insurance coverage discrepancies with patients and serve as their advocate during difficulties with insurance processes.
- Identify and perform pre-certifications required by the patient's insurance for various services.
- Communicate patient financial responsibilities, obtain written pre-authorizations, and educate patients on financial services.
- Serve as a resource to Care Teams regarding insurance coverage limitations.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- 1+ year of medical billing experience preferred.
- Previous experience in reproductive medicine or women’s health preferred.
- Experience with Athena is preferred.
- Ability to work weekends, evenings, and holidays on a rotating basis.
